Around the City or the urban area, lies a Green Belt which is an environmental research and resource area and includes farms and forestries, a botanical garden, seed bank, medicinal and herbal plants, water catchment bunds, and some communities.
Tarun Bharat Sangh (TBS) is a non-profitable environmental NGO; with headquarter in Bheekampura, Alwar, Rajasthan. Dr Rajendra Singh (known as Water man of India) is the incumbent chairman of TBS since 1985. TBS started their work with mobilizing communities around the issue of water, and supporting them in reviving and revitalising the traditional systems of water management through construction of ‘Johads’, ‘Anicut’, and ‘Bands’ for rain water harvesting from shramdan and partly by TBS.
